Want to help?

With a strong team of committed volunteers Caring Hands is able to do so much more for those in need. We always need a variety of skill-sets and are flexible in creating the right position for you.

If you have some spare time, come and volunteer for us. There’s all sorts of way you could help:

We will be doing harvest collections throughout September and October. If you would like to support this year’s Harvest appeal and help us change lives, here is a list of tinned or dry goods we would love to receive (if you can bring it to King’s Church Ministries, ME4 6BB where there are parking/drop off facilities available:

Soups – any flavours

Vegetables – any variety

Why do you volunteer?

Fundraising

Do you love a challenge? Organise a fundraiser for us – it could be anything from inviting friends for coffee and cakes at home, to dying your hair or sleeping outside in a tent all night!

Caring Hands offers it's garden to homeless guests as a peaceful oasis in the midst of what is often a busy and depressing world.

Can you donate something?

We are always grateful for: tinned food, cakes and biscuits, toiletries, towels, adult clothing, playing cards and board games

Do you have practical skills such as painting, carpentry or gardening that you could contribute?

Ami -

I volunteer at Caring Hands because I feel like I can make a difference here. You don't get that anywhere else and people really appreciate it. I want to help people and here I can do it so directly in such a meaningful way, offering food, drinks and support. There's a huge amount of satisfaction in doing that.

My favourite moments are when some of the younger girls who come in ask to just have a chat and offload, because there aren't that many people they can talk to in that way. I appreciate knowing that they are getting something really meaningful out of my time, even if it's just through having someone listen.
